I am Andrew Zaretsky, and I collect tube tape recorders.

Many of you remember your first tape recorder. I received my first one from my mother when I graduated a high school. That was simple NOTA 1/2 track Russian tube deck. Because of this unique machine I had an opportunity to listen to bands such as The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, and it changed my life. Now, many years after, we live in the digital age. But I still remember the very special sound of that old tape recorder, the character, warmth, and presence that is unmatched. Every time when I put the a reel to reel tape on. it brings me back to my youth and connects me to the music. It bring me back to my soul, so to say.

I started Reel Tube Sound in order to create a collection of tube reel-to-reel tape recorders, and would like all allow everyone a chance to listen to them and have experience what I have. The music comes alive, and I hope you feel it too.

As my collection grows, I intend to upload around 300 tube tape recorders playing  Jazz, Blues, Rock'n'Roll and more. Each recorder has its own history and sound. I wish to capture their unique character and make it available to you.

If you would like to contribute to the collection, see the tape recorders, consult about tape recorder repair and restoration, or have any questions, feel free to contact me. You can also help contribute the the library by sending a file of your tape recorder that I do not have. Let's build together, and share the music.

Happy listening!
